The We Care 2 Fund at RCC

Rockland Community College has received federal funding to help students pay for tuition, fees, housing, food, utilities, books, course materials, technology, health care, and child care resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The We Care 2 Fund is made available to students through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA).

The Emergency Fund at RCC

In the wake of COVID-19, the Emergency Fund provides RCC students who are experiencing undue hardship with aid that resolves their immediate need and allows them to continue their studies and graduate.

Campus Bookstore

The Bookstore is open to the public.

Summer 2021 Hours

Mondays through Thursdays, 10 am – 4 pm

No more than 10 shoppers will be allowed in the store at one time. Masks/face coverings are required and social distancing practices will be enforced.

Fall 2021 Hours

Monday, August 23 through Friday, September 17, 2021:
Mondays through Thursdays, 10 am – 5 pm
Fridays, 10 am – 2 pm

After September 17, 2021:
Mondays through Thursdays, 10 am – 4 pm

No more than 25 shoppers will be allowed in the store at one time. Masks/face coverings and social distancing are strongly recommended.

Online Learning

RCC is operating in a modified model where over 90% of courses are using remote/virtual teaching and learning. This means the College will be using numerous programs to transition to technology-assisted, live and synchronous sessions.

Getting Help

Online Learning

To get help with Blackboard LMS, Blackboard Collaborate, and general online learning questions or concerns, contact the Online Education and Academic Technology Office from 9 am to 5 pm at 845-574-4713 or complete the Student help request form.

Technology Support

The IT help desk staff will be available to provide one-on-one assistance, like logging into college-issued accounts, configuring your laptop, or help with technology that is new to you. You can call the IT help desk at 1-877-241-1823.

Emergency & Crisis Resources

The Connection Center is dedicated to providing non-academic support to students and their families, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Center has compiled this list of county, state and national resources that offer support.

Reading and Writing Center

This semester, most courses will be held remotely because of concerns regarding COVID-19. Therefore, the RCC Reading and Writing Center (RWC) will continue to work with students remotely for the Spring 2021 semester. With that said, students wishing to utilize the RWC services should go to to schedule an appointment. Visit the RWC page for more information.

Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center is here to support you academically and we’ll be assisting you virtually for the Spring semester. Tutoring is available for you through Blackboard Collaborate and ThinkingStorm. Visit the Tutoring Center webpage for more information.

Accessibility Services

The Accessibility Services office will be open Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Until further notice, all appointments will be conducted via phone or technology.

Accessibility Services will not be proctoring exams while online classes are being held in lieu of face-to-face teaching at Rockland Community College. Please communicate with your instructors to discuss any requests for exam accommodations in your courses.

  • Some instructors may opt for an alternative assessment method (e.g., essays, untimed exams) which may require exam accommodations.
  • If your instructor is creating an online timed examination, please notify your instructor if you need extended time.
  • Academic departments are responsible for setting up extended testing time on Blackboard.

Financial Aid

The FASFA Mini LAB is open Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm. Students and families can get virtual guidance in completing their FAFSA applications. Please set up an appointment with our team members for one on one assistance by adding the FAFSA Mini LAB Appointment Calendar to your Google Calendar and then select an available appointment.

Food Cupboard

The RCC Food Cupboard offers free, non-perishable grocery items for currently enrolled students experiencing need. Visit the Food Cupboard page for hours and pickup information.
