Specialty Sports Camp

For children who love sports and want to grow their skills and knowledge of the games, RCC offers 4 two-week specialty sports camps that will teach sportsmanship, dedication, leadership and other skills. This camp will provide excellent instruction in a positive learning environment. Campers will learn the basic fundamentals, and apply those skills and strategies.

Basketball and Esports are open to boys and girls while Girls Volleyball is open only to girls.

Specialty Sports Camp (Grades 5-8)

Hours

Monday – Friday: 9 am – 4 pm

Free Early Drop Off and Late Pick Up

Cost

$325 per week until June 1
$350 per week after June 1

Baseball

Dates: June 27 – July 8

Our Baseball camp provides fun, safe, outdoor and organized baseball with some of the best players in the area! Campers receive small group instruction with experienced, energetic and responsible coaching staff, and varied weekly programs to improve skills, confidence and love of the game. Drills and game play every day! Age and skill-appropriate age divisions with weekly camper evaluations.

The RCC Baseball Camp is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of hitting, fielding, base running, catching and pitching, as well as advanced skills and techniques. This two-week camp is designed for the beginner, intermediate and advanced baseball player.

All campers are responsible for bringing their own glove, bat, cleats, sneakers, water bottle and hat.

9:00 am – 9:30 am: Drop off, stretching & running
9:30 am – 11:00 am: Throwing, defensive skills

  • Day 3 – Pitching / Catching
  • Day 4 – Situations
  • Day 5 – Reinforcement & situations

11:00 am – 11:45 am: Defensive competition (throwing accuracy, “error”, etc.)
11:45 am – 12:15 pm: Baserunning
12:15 pm – 1:15 pm: Lunch
1:15 pm – 2:30 pm: Offensive skills (tee work, soft toss & batting practice)
2:30 pm – 4:00 pm: Games or simulated games based on skill level

Chris Calvario is a member of the Baseball Team here at Rockland Community College. A 2021 graduate of Albertus Magnus, Chris has assisted in coaching his father’s little league baseball team.

Girls Volleyball

Dates: July 1 – July 12

Our Women’s Volleyball Summer Camp is the ultimate opportunity for young female volleyball players to improve their skills and have a great time. Our camp offers top-notch coaching and instruction for players of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players.

Throughout the camp, campers will work on their fundamental skills, including passing, hitting, serving, and blocking, with a focus on their individual needs. They will also participate in drills and exercises designed to improve their agility, footwork, and overall court movement. Live gameplay and friendly competitions will provide the chance to test their skills in real game situations.

Our experienced and certified coaches are committed to giving players the personal attention and instruction they need to reach their full potential. Sara Hayward is the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Rockland Community College. In her first season, she coached the team to their first NJCAA National Tournament appearance, and the team won the Mid-Hudson Conference and Northeast District B championships. She is also an assistant coach for a U17 girls volleyball team, and the Head Varsity Softball Coach at Suffern High School.

9:00 am – 9:30 am: Welcome, check-in, group warm up
9:30 am – 11:00 am: Morning stations (defensive group stations-setting, passing, serve receive, etc.)
11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Defensive games
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: Lunch
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm:  Afternoon stations (offensive group stations-hitting, serving, etc.)
2:30 pm – 3:15 pm: Offensive games

9:30 am – 11:00 am:  Individual techniques, skill work, fast foot work, training, shooting & finishing, goalkeepers specialized training
11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Small sided games / Futsal

Esports
