T.H.R.I.V.E. Initiative: QPR Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention

October 17 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm EDT

Location: Academic I, Room 1106

Join us for QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention, a 1-hour educational program designed to empower participants with the skills to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and respond effectively. This training is open to all faculty, staff, and students who want to learn how to support individuals at risk of suicide. As a gatekeeper, you will learn how to: 1) Question someone about their intentions or thoughts regarding suicide; 2) Persuade them to seek and accept help; 3) Refer them to appropriate resources for further support. Whether you’re a friend, neighbor, teacher, coach, or just someone who cares, this training will equip you with practical tools to make a difference in someone’s life. We encourage everyone to participate and help foster a safer, more supportive community.

Presenter: Mental Health Association
