Open Houses & Info Sessions

Rockland Community College offers a variety of visit opportunities for prospective students and their families. Open Houses are usually hosted in November and April and there are a variety of Academic Info Sessions throughout the year. Admissions offers weekly campus tours and you can check out our campus at any time by visiting our virtual tour. We look forward to welcoming you to our campus!

Hospitality & Culinary Arts

Get started towards a professional and exciting career in the Hospitality and Culinary industry! You will be able to experience the state-of-the-art facility, learn about our programs of study in culinary arts, baking & pastry arts and hospitality management, and meet faculty and staff.

The RCC Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center is located downtown in the historic river village of Nyack, NY. At its focus, the Center offers the following to students and the community at large:

At least nine semester credits of legal specialty courses through traditional classroom or synchronous instruction are required. (21 of the 30 Legal Studies/Paralegal Studies credits must be taken at RCC).

Paralegals are not licensed and always work under the supervision of an attorney. Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public except as permitted by law.

CDL Program Information Session

Need help getting your CDL? Join us for a virtual info session to learn about our CDL Training Program.

About the Program
The Class A Truck Driver curriculum trains students to inspect and operate tractor-trailers, and assume responsibility on the road and at pickup/delivery points. Emphasis is placed on vehicle inspections, defensive driving, range maneuvers, motor carrier safety regulations (DOT 380 -397 and a certificate for entry-level drivers), trip planning, cargo handlings, size/weight laws, general maintenance procedures, hours of service, and accident prevention. The program prepares students for the Class A Tractor Trailer Certification, and includes assistance with resume writing, interview preparation, and job placement.

Certified EMT Program Information Session

If you have not attended one of our sessions yet, please join us for a mandatory virtual information session for anyone interested in the EMT program.

About the Program
The Emergency Medical Technician program leads to New York State Certification as an EMT-Basic. Students are trained to provide care in life-threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions, and to prevent further harm before a patient is moved or transported. Students complete a rigorous course including didactic and practical instruction as required by New York State. Students who successfully complete the course and pass the final written and practical exam will be eligible to take the New York State Certification Exam on the last day of the program. The program also includes assistance in resume writing, interview preparation, and job placement. This program prepares student to earn an industry certification as a New York Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B).

Upcoming Community Education Program Info Sessions

Drone FAA Part 107 Information Session

In order to fly your drone under the FAA’s Small UAS Rule (Part 107), you must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA. This certificate demonstrates that you understand the regulations, operating requirements, and procedures for safely flying drones. The course is self-paced but follows a progression of information with due dates to aid in completing the material in a timely manner.

24-Credit High School Equivalency Program Info Session

The 24-credit High School Equivalency (HSE) is a New York State Department of Education program to help people who want to earn a college degree but do not possess a high school diploma. Students attend regular college classes at RCC that are required for the college degree that they choose and earn their HSE with the same college credits that are part of their chosen degree program. Upon completion of the 24 credits required to earn the HSE students do not need to take an HSE test or special HSE classes. For more information please visit College Credit and Out-of-State Testing.
