ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. (September 16, 2022) – This year Rockland Community College will hold its annual Senior Fair in the Eugene Levy Fieldhouse on September 22, from 10 am to 1 pm. The event, spearheaded by New York State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick, will feature more than 80 vendors and exhibitors offering information and resources for attendees—including a pickleball tutorial. There will be breakout sessions on Medicare, budgeting and emergency savings, and a presentation from NYS Comptroller’s office of unclaimed funds. In addition, flu shots will be available this year. The college is located at 145 College Road in Suffern.
A free lunch will be provided by Rockland Community College, Hudson Valley Credit Union, Healthfirst, Aetna Insurance and AGA Medicare Options. There is no fee for seniors to attend and all Rockland County seniors are invited to take part in this informative and fun event.
More than 700 senior guests visited last year’s Senior Fair, and this year’s event is widely anticipated among seniors in Rockland. “I am really looking forward to it. It’s such a terrific way to connect with seniors and provide them with an opportunity to learn about resources, services, and programs that are available in Rockland,” said Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick. “There will be representatives from local, state and federal government, guest speakers, entertainment, and this year we’ve added pickleball, so bring your sneakers!”
