Hispanic Heritage Month Presentation—Doris Salcedo: Art, Memory & Belonging

Join us for a presentation on Doris Salcedo, one of Colombia’s most significant contemporary artists. Through sculpture and installation, Salcedo transforms ordinary objects and architectural spaces into powerful reflections on memory, loss, displacement, immigration, and political violence.
The presentation will explore Salcedo’s landmark installation Shibboleth and consider how contemporary art can challenge ideas of borders, exclusion, belonging, and who is allowed to enter—or feel at home—in a space.
