Slipstreaming By Diane Biondo

Slipstreaming is a play by an American Lesbian Feminist set in New York. It is a story of a relationship between two women.
Gail is 41, a professional, and a mother of two sons. Stephanie is younger, impressionable, and energetic. As their relationship develops, the play examines such issues as: Jealously, class, motherhood, lust, self-confidence, self-image, and self-preservation.
Reading by students and faculty of the Visual and Performing Arts department.
There will be a talk-back with the playwright, and a reception, with light refreshments following the play reading.
About Diane Biondo
Diane Biondo is the author of four plays, Slipstreaming (1984), Hitting Home (1985), Penance (1986), and Pushing the Clouds (2005). Three of her plays were produced in the UK during festivals to celebrate LGBTQ+ arts and activism. Her short story “Something to Cry About” appears in the anthology of crime stories reader, I Murdered Him, published by the Women’s Press (1988); her article “Introducing Our Similarities and Differences” features in Feminism and Censorship, published by Prism Press in the same year. Her works in progress include Blood Ties Love Ties: A Memoir, and Lesbian Decades: Three Plays for Three Generations.
By profession, Diane is a literacy coach, curriculum writer, and early childhood elementary educator. She continues her work with children through “Harriet’s Notebook,” a tutoring venture for young writers. After many years of living in England, Diane relocated back to the US. Diane lives in Nyack, New York.
