Women and the Veil: An Overview of Headscarves Across Cultures and Faiths

In this lecture, we’ll be going over the historical significance of headwraps and veils in history, cultures, peoples, and faiths. While often associated with modesty or femininity, headwraps have served many purposes throughout history. From signaling social status to expressing religious identity, we’ll examine the complex meanings and interpretations on these important articles of clothing for women around the world.
