AIDS Memorial Quilt Opening Reception
Location: Library 1st Floor
Throughout the month of October, Rockland Community College is honored to host a block of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, the world’s largest community art project and a powerful tribute to the lives lost to the AIDS epidemic.
Each panel of the Quilt is lovingly hand-stitched by friends, family, and community members to commemorate individuals whose lives were cut short by HIV/AIDS. The Quilt stands as both a moving remembrance and a call to action—reminding us of the importance of compassion, education, and advocacy in the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS.
We invite students, faculty, staff, and community members to spend time with the Quilt, reflect on its meaning, and honor the lives represented in this profound piece of living history.
