A Screening of the Movie “The Six Triple Eight”
March 1 @ 7:00 pm EST
Location: Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education
The Six Triple Eight tells the inspiring story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all-Black, all-female U.S. Army unit during World War II. Tasked with sorting a massive backlog of mail for American soldiers, they faced the harsh realities of war, racism, and sexism with unparalleled courage and determination.
Their mission not only boosted the morale of soldiers but also helped Holocaust survivors reconnect with loved ones across the globe—underscoring the power of human connection after unimaginable tragedy. Their fight against oppression serves as a powerful reminder of resilience and resistance.
This screening is especially meaningful as it honors the legacy of these trailblazing women during Yom HaShoah, Black History Month, and Women’s History Month, celebrating their courage in breaking racial and gender barriers.
We hope you can join us to reflect on this remarkable story of perseverance and hope.
