Rockland County Poet Laureate Juan Pablo Mobili Poetry Reading at Word of Mouth

Dr. Meghan P. Nolan started the Word of Mouth reading series in a little venue called Bluestockings Bookstore on the Lower East Side of Manhattan 2006, and it has existed in one form or other throughout the years. This reading series has always remained dedicated to poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction as a way to share the human experience.
We are excited to welcome the Rockland County Poet Laureate, Juan Pablo Mobili for three upcoming events at RCC:
- April 22nd @ 12:30pm, room 1214 – Poetry Workshop with the Poetry Club (Club President, Ariel Murtagh; Club Advisor, Dr. Meghan P. Nolan)
- April 28th @ 10am, room 1106 – Guest Lecture and Presentation (Introduction by Dr. Meghan P. Nolan)
- May 6th @ 12:30pm, room 7100 – Poetry Reading at Word of Mouth, a part of the Unity in Community Festival (Hosted by Dr. Meghan P. Nolan; Unity in Community Festival organized annually by Patricia Maloney-Titland)
The Rockland County Poet Laureate Program is a collaboration between the Arts Council of Rockland and County Executive, Ed Day.
Juan Pablo Mobili
2025 Rockland County Poet Laureate
Juan Pablo Móbili was born in Buenos Aires and adopted by New York. His poems appeared in Tupelo Quarterly, Hanging Loose Magazine, Louisville Review and The Worcester Review, among others, as well as publications in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. He’s a recipient of several Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominations, and an Honorable Mention from the International Human Rights Art Festival,. His chapbook, “Contraband,” was published in 2022, and he is currently submitting his first full-length book of poems. In January of 2025, he was appointed Poet Laureate of Rockland County, New York.
