President’s Student Support Fund

The President’s Student Support Fund (PSSF) is a private RCC Foundation fund that provides financial assistance to RCC students so they are able to maintain enrollment and excel academically and personally. The Fund provides support for direct educational costs such as tuition, fees, and textbooks.

Generally, any student who is a citizen or eligible non-citizen (for example, a permanent resident) is required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In addition, residents of New York State must complete the New York State TAP and Excelsior applications. Financial Aid staff are available to assist with these applications. For more information on how to apply for the FAFSA, contact [email protected].

Federal and State financial aid sources are considered primary sources of aid and it is the intention of the PSSF Fund to supplement government funding and not replace or supplant it.

As of June 3, 2021, RCC is awaiting guidance on our third round of federal COVID emergency assistance from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). In this third round of funding, all students who have attended RCC from March 13, 2020 through the end of HEERF 3 application period are eligible to apply. This includes citizens, permanent residents, non-citizens, undocumented students, students with DACA status, and international students. Because RCC’s HEERF award is sizable and the funding will be available to all students, the College is suspending the review of applications made to the President’s Student Support Fund. All PSSF applicants will be referred to the HEERF 3 application process as soon as it is available. It is anticipated that more information surrounding HEERF 3 funding will be available by June 30, 2021. A link will be posted here.
