5-Hour Pre-Licensing Class
The New York 5-Hour Online Pre-Licensing Course teaches you the knowledge and skills to become a safer, more responsible driver. New drivers will learn New York traffic laws, defensive driving skills, rules of the road, and much more!
All new drivers must complete the 5-hour pre-licensing course before scheduling the road test for their first driver’s license. To take the course, students must be 16 years old or older and have a valid photo learner permit. You must take your road test within one year of completing the pre-licensing course.
You’ll learn about the following:
- New York vehicle and traffic laws
- Safe driving behaviors
- Defensive driving skills
- Dangers of driving under the influence
- Common risks for new drivers
After you successfully pass the course, your completion information will be automatically sent to the NYSDMV. You do not need to print a course certificate to provide to the DMV. To get your first driver’s license, schedule your road test appointment and pass your behind-the-wheel assessment.

Basic Rider Course (BRC)
This course is designed for the new motorcycle rider! The BRC course consists of approximately five hours of classroom and ten hours of on-cycle instruction, conducted over two or three sessions. Successful completion may serve as a license test waiver program in New York State, and a course completion card may provide a rider with an insurance discount.
Motorcycles are provided for your use during the course.

Defensive Driving
Defensive Driving is essentially driving using safe driving strategies to enable motorists to address identified hazards predictably. These strategies go well beyond instruction on basic traffic laws and procedures. With defensive driving classes, students learn to improve their driving skills by reducing Driving risks, anticipating situations, and making safe, well-informed decisions. When completing a safe driving maneuver, such decisions are implemented based on the road and environmental conditions.
A Defensive Driving Course is a New York State Department of Motor Vehicles authorized course providing knowledge and techniques for the safe operation of a motor vehicle.

Notary Public New York State Exam Prep Course
The New York State Notary Public test will provide you with a comprehensive view of the Notary Public office. Confusing laws, concepts, and procedures will be clearly explained and clarified. Examples will be provided to illuminate situations that a Notary Public officer is likely to encounter. Topics include avoiding conflicts of interest, maintaining professional ethics, charging reasonable fees, handling exceptional cases, when to defer an attorney, and minimizing legal liability. This workshop is a must for Notary Public candidates to become fully aware of this office’s authority, duties, and responsibilities.

QPR Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention
QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention is a 1–2-hour educational program designed to teach lay and professional “gatekeepers” the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. Gatekeepers can include anyone who is strategically positioned to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide (e.g., parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, coaches, caseworkers, police officers). The process follows three steps: (1) Question the individual’s desire or intent regarding suicide, (2) Persuade the person to seek and accept help, and (3) Refer the person to appropriate resources.
Real Estate Academy
Rockland Community College is partnering with The CE Shop to offer online Real Estate Salesperson and Broker courses. These mandatory pre-license courses are New York State approved and will qualify you to take the state exam.
The NY Real Estate license class is an online interactive course. New York requires one course to get your real estate license: a 77-Hr. NY Salesperson Pre-Licensing Course. With the CE Shop, students complete their New York Real Estate Pre-Licensing course at their own pace through text-based, online materials. The CE Shop has developed a reputation for providing various real estate-related courses.
TEAS Preparatory Class
TEAS Preparatory class assists individuals studying to pass the TEAS exam. TEAS prep courses are an excellent way for students to re-learn important concepts while learning new material that will be tested on the TEAS. TEAS prep courses will help students become more comfortable taking the TEAS by offering strategies and test-taking tips. Like any test you take, studying beforehand will boost your chances for success.

Digital Literacy
Digital literacy is the ability to navigate our digital world using reading, writing, technical skills, and critical thinking. Drone Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Class
In order to fly your drone under the FAA’s Small UAS Rule (Part 107), you must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA. This certificate demonstrates that you understand the regulations, operating requirements, and procedures for safely flying drones. The course is self-paced but follows a progression of information with due dates to aid in completing the material in a timely manner.

SAT Math Review
The first step to understanding how to master the SAT Math section is to learn exactly what you’ll be tested on. The SAT Math section consists of three major topic areas: Heart of Algebra, Passport to Advanced Math, and Problem Solving and Data Analysis. SAT Reading and Writing Review
The Reading and Writing section presents short reading passages (or passage pairs) followed by a single multiple-choice question. Questions in the Reading and Writing section represent one of four content domains—Craft and Structure, Information and Ideas, Standard English Conventions, and Expression of Ideas. To help you budget your time, questions that test similar skills and knowledge are grouped together and arranged from easiest to hardest.
