Orientation
Rockland Community College’s New Student Orientation is an invaluable experience for all first-year students, regardless of academic affiliation or program of study. Orientation will provide you with the opportunity to become familiar with campus resources, learn about distinguished program offerings, and interact with current students, faculty, and staff before beginning classes.
All new students are expected to complete Orientation.
Sign up for New Student Orientation to learn about the College and finalize your pre-registered class schedule with an advisor. Be sure to fill out your Application Status forms before the date of your orientation, so you can be properly registered for your classes.
**Those who do not attend New Student Orientation will be withdrawn from their pre-registered schedule of classes that was made upon completing the Application Status forms and Focus2 assessment.

Were you unable to make one of our In-Person New Student Orientations? No problem, Virtual NSO is now available!
Before you start the Virtual New Student Orientation, be sure to activate your myRCC account, username and password. You will need to use your myRCC account information to access the Orientation online.

What type of information can be provided to me as a parent?
We are bound by federal law — the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) — to protect student privacy. We cannot violate confidentiality or provide information that violates this law, which protects the privacy of student educational records and gives students (over the age of 18 years or attending an institution of higher education) the right to access and correct their records. In addition, information contained in the educational records, beyond directory information, cannot be shared without the student’s written consent.
How can we afford RCC?
Many students are eligible for financial aid and all students are encouraged to apply for funds to help them meet the cost of higher education. Funds are generally available for those who demonstrate financial need. Please visit our Financial Aid page for more information.
How can I pay for my student’s bill?

What resources are available for academic support?
At Rockland Community College, students are provided with a specialized Student Success Team that will help with your student’s academic journey, career exploration, transfer planning, support service referrals, etc. In addition, RCC provides students with free tutoring services, which includes the Tutoring & Science Learning Center and The Reading and Writing Center (RWC).
Where can students find employment during the school year?
Career Readiness and Success Center at Rockland Community College assists students with connecting them to part-time or full-time employment on or off campus.
Who is the appropriate entity on campus to determine and authorize reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities?
Accessibility Services works collaboratively with the College community to facilitate equal access for students with disabilities to the educational programs, services and facilities of Rockland Community College.
How do I get informed about any closures or delayed openings?
The safety of the RCC Community is a top priority. The Closures and Delays webpage is designed to keep the RCC Community informed about campus closures and delays. Please check the page often for updated information in the event of a closing or delay as we will post regularly with details.
