About the Certified Phlebotomy Technician Program

About the Combined Certified EKG/Phlebotomy Program

The Certified Clinical Phlebotomy & EKG Technician program is a combined classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory setting experience. Students will learn the fundamentals of Laboratory Medical Science and gain the knowledge and certification to perform cardiac testing in a clinical setting; the course will include Health Care System Settings, Administrative, Clinical and laboratory. Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, clinical procedures and computer application.

About the Combined Certified Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy Program

This course is an overview of medical functions of a medical assistant, including examinations, medical terminology, diagnostic testing methods: vital signs, lab techniques, drawing blood, and EKG. The course clarifies the tasks that is within the medical assistant’s scope of practice. Upon completion of the course, students should successfully attain all clinical medical assisting competencies. Students will be prepared to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) & the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) accredited by the National Healthcareer Association.
