Rockland Community College is a Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite under Rockland County’s Lactation Promotion and Support Program.
In compliance with this Program, the College has a designated room for expressing milk and allows breastfeeding mothers to pump throughout the day. The room is located on the lower level of the Student Union next to the game room and can be used by employees or students who are breastfeeding mothers.
Employees are required to give advance notice and make advanced arrangements to utilize this benefit. Consultation with their supervisor and the Human Resources representative should occur prior to a nursing mother’s return to work from childcare leave.
Lactation time for students will be allowed and agreed upon between the faculty and the student.
To request a key to access the lactation room:
- Employees should contact Belinda Kodgis in Human Resources at x 4281 (Monday – Friday (8 am – 4 pm).
- Students should contact Michael Albin in Student Involvement at x 4302 (Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm).
- Students should contact Public Safety at x 4217 (Monday – Friday, 5 – 10 pm; Saturday – Sunday, 9 am – 2 pm).
