About the Certified Nursing Aide Training Program
The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Training Program prepares individuals for entry-level positions as nursing assistants in healthcare settings. This comprehensive program integrates theoretical instruction with hands-on clinical experience, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for delivering safe and compassionate patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
Students will learn fundamental nursing skills, including ADL assistance, vital sign measurement, wound care, and infection control practices. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, communication, and ethical decision-making in healthcare. Key topics covered include anatomy and physiology, infection control, communication techniques, and legal/ethical considerations.
The program features classroom instruction and clinical rotations, enabling students to apply skills in real-world settings under expert guidance. Successful completion qualifies students to sit for the state certification exam for Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs).

Credit for Prior Learning
Students who hold a current certification are eligible to earn college credits through credit for prior learning. A fee of 40% of tuition per credit is charged for the credit and students do not need to take the class.

Course Description:
This course explores a variety of options available for careers in the healthcare industry. Students will be exposed to a broad range go roles and will discuss the scope of practice of the variety of positions they will encounter as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Students will be prepared to evaluate career options that best need their interests and career goals. Guest lecturers will be utilized to augment the scope of many specialized roles within a variety of healthcare settings.
