About the Certified Production Technician Program

The Certified Production Technician (CPT) program recognizes, through certification, individuals who demonstrate mastery of the core competencies of manufacturing production: Safety, Quality Practices & Measurement; Manufacturing Processes & Production, and Maintenance Awareness. This course will raise the level of performance of production workers, assisting individuals in finding higher-wage jobs and helping employers ensure their workforce increases the company’s productivity and competitiveness. In addition to teaching foundational technical skills, the CPT training program addresses cross-functional skills, such as communications, teamwork, customer awareness, and workplace conduct. Recognized by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) as the foundation of its National Skills Certification System, the CPT certification is truly a portable credential.
