Automotive Technician Fundamentals in partnership with Ford Motor Company microcredential badgeAutomotive Technician shortages are expected to grow to over 800K by 2025. Upon successful completion of the requirements, a student is prepared to apply for a quick lane or entry level position with an automotive dealership or repair shop or one of our Ford Dealer partners. Participants will complete Ford Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) automotive technician skill basics taught by a certified Ford ACE instructor. Participants will learn about career opportunities within the automotive industry as well as the Ford ASSET and automotive technology degree programs.

Courses Required

Description:
An introduction to the field of automotive technology and preparation for entry-level automotive employment. Topics include hand tool usage and safety, electrical safety, lift safety, personal protective equipment, oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspection, pollution prevention, career exploration, customer service, resume preparation, interview skills and job search skills.

Minimum Grade Proficiency: B-

(Grades will be recorded on the student’s transcript. Students who meet the grade proficiency are eligible to earn the micro-credential. If a grade is earned below the proficiency level, the course grade cannot be used toward the micro-credential, but is eligible for graduation requirements.)
