Advanced Front Office Management microcredential badge

Advanced Front Office Management includes business communications, management and human resources, and provides additional skills in finance fundamentals and management information systems. Students will use information technology to present data that management can use to make business decisions. Through hands-on experience with productivity/application software students will acquire the skills needed to organize data that adds value to business decision making process. General concepts of finance includes financial instruments, financial markets, the interpretation of financial statements and financial data. The demand for Front Office managers in all business sectors is expected to rise by 22%. Upon the successful completion of these classes, the student will receive a digital badge in Advanced Front Office Management.

Description:
This course focuses on the importance and development of effective oral and written communication in the workplace. Appropriate techniques will be applied to the preparation, composition, and revision of traditional business documents, resumes, and electronic communications. Formatting, research techniques, and the use of visual aids and correct mechanics will be emphasized. Oral communication skills will be demonstrated through the delivery and evaluation of presentations and group work activities.

Principles of Finance skills badge

Description:
This course provides the student with an overview of the general concepts of finance. Topics covered include financial instruments, financial markets, the interpretation of financial statements and financial data.

Management Information Systems skills badge

Description:
Management Information Systems use information technology to record, store, process and present data that management can use to make business decisions. Through hands-on-experience with productivity/application software students will acquire the skills needed to organize data that adds value to business decision making process.

Principles of Management skills badge
Description:
Introduction to principles and practices of management. Major schools of management theory. Techniques of management functions: planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling; leadership, communications, motivation and the decision-making process.

Human Resources Management skills badge
Description:
An introduction to the key role that human resource management plays in an organization’s success. Topics covered will include: talent acquisition and retention; employee engagement; learning and development; total rewards; HR in the global context; diversity and inclusion; risk management; corporate social responsibility; U.S. employment laws and regulations; structure of the HR function; organizational effectiveness and development; workforce management; employee relations; technology, data and ethics.
